High definition suggestions - should I go with Comcast's HD digital cable or satellite?
I am looking for some advice from a new local source since I am new to the area and don't know the best add-ons from my local cable provider Comcast, and I do not even know if Comcast is the answer or if I am better served by satellite. There are many features and products that they all have, but on the surface Comcast looks like it has the most. I'm just not sure which way is the best way to go - breaking them up with different providers or combining all three digital services through Comcast. I have found out that even my phone operator is going to start providing digital television to my locality, but it does seem quite pricey. Satellite looks like the lowest price at first but as soon as you start adding channel packages the rates go up quickly. Comcast offers a size-able basic lineup and a great digital expansion tier that seems to be a good value. Also, Satellite's HD channel lineup is not as big as Comcast. I want to be prepared for HDTV even though I don't have one yet. Comcast has unlimited flat rate national local and long distance phone service as well. My local telephone company is offering new deals in order to be competitive, but they haven't offered flat rate national calling yet. Their service has been generally good, but I would prefer having the bill the same every month. At the present time, I have DSL as my broadband connection. It usually does the job but I've got some friends with cable internet service and it seems a lot faster. I'm a computer and xbox gamer so I could use some extra speed. Comcast seems to have a pretty good high speed service as well. I can even order a faster service over the basic tier for mind blowing download speeds. If I order Comcast's triple-play bundled service packages, it seems that it may give me some big savings by purchasing them all together. Can anyone who has used these services offer me some tips?
