New Development Sprint Starts on Monday
A new 2-week development sprint starts on Monday which is dedicated almost entirely to the polishing up of the user interface for LOD (Libra OnDemand) Events module.
We are trying to make it a lot easier and quicker to work with scheduling of functions and booking event rooms. Most of the work will concentrate on enhancing the graphical Functions Map, which we develop using Adobe Flex technology. For example, it will now be possible to quickly book a room for a function by simply highlighting the available time area with your mouse and entering the function name (thanks Aerostar for giving us the idea!). Another feature is the drag and drop functionality for booked functions directly from the functions map. A user will be able to click on a function and drag it across to a diferent room or a different time directly on the map. A new Waitlist status will be added to the functions, in addition to Definite and Tentative, allowing the hotel to put function requests for overbooked space on a waitlist and monitor if a particular space becomes available so that the waitlisted reservations can be confirmed back to the client.
Overall there are about 20 individual enhancements that we have scheduled for the team for the next two weeks, and we are looking forward to implementing them in the next release of the application.
