Events Module Enhanced

A new release of Libra OnDemand Events module has been published, with several exciting new features and enhancements. Our aim was to make the setup of functions and events as quick and intuitive as possible, and we naturally opted for taking advantage of the Functions Map graphical user interface (developed in Adobe Flex).

You can now highlight an area on the Functions Map with a mouse and the system will automatically create a new function booking for the selected meeting space and duration. The whole process takes only a few seconds and one mouse stroke. A typical use case for this scenario is when the sales office of a hotel receives multiple inquiries and preliminary bookings over the phone and needs to have the ability to quickly record all incoming requests which will later be confirmed by or to the customer. The newly created  booking will default to Tentative status, which can be changed to Definite or Waitlist.

Waitlist status for function and event reservatios is another useful feature of this release. Waitlisted functions can be booked for the same room and time as other bookings even if their status is Definite. In case the customer cancels an existing function in a given room and time, waitlisted reservations can be confirmed back to the customer and converted to either Definite or Tentative.

Drag and Drop functionality on the Functions Map is another nice feature which allows to quicly move functions from one room and time slot to another, provided of course that the function has been specified as Movable (the Movable flag can default to Yes or No depending on system preferences).

Overall there have been over 20 individual enhancements that our team has added in the last two weeks, and we are looking forward to receiving users' feedback and suggestions as the new features are being tried out.
